It has finally arrived, the ability to bid according to your target audience’s demographics if you’re running contextual or placement targeting on AdWords.
What is a placement targeted campaign?
Definition from Google Adwords: ads appear next to relevant content on sites you choose in the Google Network. (Placement targeting was formerly called site targeting.)
Back in January, Google AdWords invited a few of its advertisers to join this new feature for testing; today they have made it available for all AdWords advertisers.
What will this allow you to do and how can it impact and change your campaign?
- It will allow you to target your ads for a particular age group, gender or a mix of the two
- More control over who sees your ads
- Be able to run reports to see how your ads perform with different demographic groups
